Contrary to what some experienced architects which I have the pleasure of knowing
vhemently argue, recently in my travels I have noticed new apartment buildings which are
"irregular" and actually work. While the new complex City Life by Zaha Hadid and Daniel
Lebiskind in Milan also serve as a perfect example of irregular construction in residential
typology, the Marco Polo Tower stands as a single building which works with its irregularity
both structurally and aesthetically for the better; its organic shape allows it to adapt to the
site's light, temperature and sound conditions. No single apartment is exactly the same as the
variations evident on the outside are reflected on individual apartment typology. In the past
buildings such as this would have been inconceivable, but now with powerful 3D programs it
is possible and with time shall become feasable on a much quicker timeline.

Below illustrates one of the apartment typologies.

Below illustrates how the spaces change between levels.

The attention to detail at the lobby level is impressive as the curved line of the balcony
transcends interior/exterior boundaries.
